Northern Ontario's Home For Golf
Northern Amateur
The Northern Ontario Amateur is one of Canada’s longest-standing golf tournaments. Founded by the Northern Golf Assocation in 1926, this years event will mark the 96th running of the championship and see Timberwolf Golf Club as our host.
Held each June, the event features the top players from member clubs across Northern Ontario. The championship includes four divisions: Men’s Amateur, Men’s Mid-Amateur, Junior Boys (U19), and Senior Men’s Amateur. 2025 past champions include Vincent Palladino, Don Martone, Brody Dagenais, and Eric Macrow.
In 2021, the Northern Golf Association and Golf Ontario proudly hosted the first set of Northern qualifiers for all divisions in over 20 seasons. We are proud to continue that tradition today as the event continues to grow. If you are interested in volunteering or playing in the event, please see the information below!
2026 Northern Amateur
The 2026 Northern Ontario (NGA) Amateur and Golf Ontario Qualifiers will take place at Timberwolf Golf Club on June 6th and 7th. The event will feature four divisions and bring together top players from across the region.
The 7,100-yard course will provide a challenging test and has previously hosted both the Canadian Junior Boys Championship and the Ontario Junior Boys Championship. This will mark the Wolf’s second time hosting the Northern Amateur.

2025 Northern Amateur
The 2025 Northern Ontario (NGA) Amateur Championship and Golf Ontario Qualifiers took place at Idylwylde Golf & Country Club on June 7th & 8th. With over 100 competitors, it was our most attended championship in the past 25 years. Congratulations to our champions Vincent Palladino (Idylwylde), Don Martone (Crimson Ridge), Eric Macrow, & Brody Dagenais (Hollinger). The 2026 Northern Ontario Amateur is set to take place at Timberwolf Golf Club!
